We rely on donors like you to help Prairie Fire continue to be a meeting place where writers and readers join to create a Canadian literary identity and to engage in a dialogue that is both immediate and accessible. Without literary magazines, emerging writers would have far fewer opportunities to launch their careers.

  • Prairie Fire’s much sought-after student practicum in publishing program.
  • Special projects such as 50 Over 50, Honouring Women Writers in Canada, a large two-issue project celebrating fifty women writers & Boreality, a collaboration between the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, Prairie Fire and four Winnipeg-based artists.
  • The Manitoba Anne Szumigalski Memorial Scholarship, which annually sends one writer to attend the Sage Hill Writing Experience in Saskatchewan.
  • Launches and workshops.
